Hi,

Much longer than that, tournaments on turn-based sites like this usually take months to finish (even years, if the timeout is long enough). This first batch of tourneys is meant to be fast, which is why they have a 1 day main limit, but they'll still probably run for at least a few weeks.

The basic rule is: If you're going to be away from the web for more than the main time limit in a tourney and you won't have enough grace time saved up to take you to the hard limit, or of course if you're going to be away beyond the hard limit, you'll probably time out in your tourney games. ("Probably" because the time limits are from when it's your turn, so if your opponent takes a while to make their move, you get a little longer.) Pocket-Monkey doesn't have a "vacations" feature (yet!).

All of this first batch of tourneys, as I said, have main limits of 1 day. The hard limit in "First Tourney" is 2 days because we want it to be a pretty quick tourney. All of the others are 4 days except the BG Match tourney, which is 14 days. But again, remember that the main limit is, well, the main limit; you can only get to the hard limit if you have enough grace time saved up.

We'll be running some tourneys with longer time limits soon.

Hope this helps,

We (Jopie2002 and me) are going on vacation as well. However, we are coming to the US and will stay in motels and make sure we pick the ones with internet :D
I bet they have i-net in Montana (Yellowstone) and Seattle too.

The winner of the section is the player with the highest score at the end. That person progresses to the next round in the tournament. If there's a tie, all of the tying players progress. The tournament is over when there is only one player left -- the winner!
