Something which comes up periodically (you've seen messages from me before on this) is that the Java plug-in gets confused on people's machines. When this happens, sometimes games don't display, or they display but incorrectly. The good news is that in most cases, it's easily dealt with by clearing the Java plug-in's cache. (This is kind of like clearing your browser cache, but it only clears the Java applets and such which have been downloaded by the plug-in.)
Here's how to clear out your Java cache:
Open the Java Control Panel: If there's a coffee cup icon in your system tray, right-click it and choose "Open control panel" (if you have a recent version of Java). If there is no coffee cup, go to the Windows Control Panel and choose the Java item.
Find and close all open browser windows. All of them. Don't leave any open. This is important, so please double-check that you don't have any open.
Okay, now back to that Java Control Panel we opened. Please follow the instructions for your version of Java: Java 1.5: You'll see a dialog with three boxes on it, the bottom box being called "Temporary Internet Files" (this is the cache). Click the Delete Files button. In the dialog box that comes up, make sure that all three of the checkboxes are checked, and click OK. Java 1.4 and earlier: You'll get a wide tabbed dialog. Go to the Cache tab. Click the button that clears the cache (I don't recall exactly, I think it's "Delete Cache" or "Clear").
Close the Java Control Panel
After doing that, the first time you go to a game, it will take a while because Java will have to download our applet again, but after that it should be quick because it will reuse its local (cached) copy.
That's it! Enjoy your games, -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey.com

I did it and my puter runs great now :) Everyone should try it
wheee - was having some real issues with PM this afternoon ... wouldnt open on Explorer so i resorted to AOL and then none of the games would show up - checked the boards, followed the instructions and hey presto - games begin again
An update on this: I've had trouble with the Java plug-in when it needs to load our little game program ("applet") from our server, especially with the most recent version of the plug-in. So after doing this, if the plug-in just keeps sitting there with the Java logo and that star-like thing spinning around, you're probably running into the same thing I have.
I've found that if I close my browser entirely, then re-open it and go back to the game, Java gets unstuck or whatever and starts working again. In the worst case, sometimes a reboot may be in order.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting very tired of these problems with the Java plug-in and we're working on alternatives. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
In the last week I have had it happen almost everytime. But what I get is just a white square. And the best thing for me is to ctrl, alt, delete and start PM over. Eventually I have to have re-boot.
Would you drop us a note via the Contact Us link describing exactly what you're seeing? I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by your games all looking "the same." -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
