Hi folks,

Pente is here! Along with Pro Pente, Keryo-Pente, and (inevitably) Pro Keryo-Pente.

Pente is on the site in "testing" mode, which means that all games are currently unrated. If all goes well, we'll be able to take it out of testing mode by the end of the week; there haven't been any significant bugs reported in the game in a week of testing over on the beta site.

Please do read the "Testing Notes" on the game (there's a temporary link above the game; or click here); they have important information.

Enjoy your (Pente) games!

One thing i noticed right away on my first game is that it looks exactly like go-mo & connect 6. Is there a way to make the color of the pieces and or backgrounds different colors for each individual game to that the different game is apparent at first glance? Just an idea

The thing is that these games are all played on the same kind of board, a Go board (not that our board currently looks at all like a Go board, but that'll change; see the testing notes...).

The games do say which game they are, just to the right of the board. There's also a second place showing the game type just above the board (unless you have WebTV; we can't afford the screen room on WebTV so we just have the one indicator on the right).

We probably won't be able to produce different graphics for each Go-style game (we have six so far) in each of our board styles (11 so far). However, one of the things on our list is to is to allow you to choose among the game board styles on a per-game basis rather than just choosing one style for all your games. That would allow you to use Blue for Gomoku and Denim for Pente (for instance). That's something which is pretty high on our To Do list.

Hope this helps,
