Well, that was an interesting few days. Sorry for the extended outage! But we're back now! (And how long was it between my reopening the doors and the first user signing in? 45 seconds. This after we'd been gone for nearly five days.)
I'll spare you the gory details. The short version is one of our hard drives failed, which is normal and expected for a site that runs 24/7/365 for years on end. That's why we have redundant drives and backups. Normally you swap out the bad drive, add it back to the array (disk array = how multiple drives can act like one, with redundancy), the array fills it in with the necessary data from the good drives, and you're done.
Not so much this time. The array was in some way compromised. De-compromising it was an extended, hair-pulling, frustrating, exasperating experience. And once I'd got the array happy again, the server refused to boot from the array.
So we're on a new server now which is bigger, stronger, faster. :-)
Timeouts will be off for a few days, obviously.
If you've been missing your games and you'd like to help us out with the significant expense involved in dealing with this, please consider making a donation. :-)
So GLAD you're back...you must have sweat bullets working to get here. We appreciate everything you do to keep myself and my 'fellow monkeys' happy. Thank you!

Moments like these usually come when one already has enough on his plate. Thank you for your dedication T.J.
I sent little something to put some beer into your cooler :-)
