Thanks to Mr. Clever here not renewing the domain name on time, the site was down briefly when the registrar changed it to point to their "domain parking" page. I fixed it within 90 minutes of expiration -- but it still took a day for the name servers around the world to get the update changing things back.
Anyway, we're back up now. No games timed-out while we were gone, and games won't start timing out again until Tuesday afternoon (UK time), for those people who only play on weekdays.
Good News!!
This seems like a good time to mention that Pocket-Monkey's successor is in the works! Wendy and I have started building a new site from scratch using modern technologies that will, initially, just have what Pocket-Monkey has (with improvements) and will then serve as the basis for a larger vision we're pursuing. It'll be a few months, but it's coming, so stay tuned!
We've ditched Java on the backend and are using modern JavaScript/TypeScript both client- and server-side, using modern hosting practices rather than a dedicated server, up-to-date build practices, etc. We've both also learned a lot about CSS vs. when we did the site's styling last time (heaven help us, something like 17 years ago).
Thank you. I enjoy your games here , they’ a lot of fun.

Thanks T.J.! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Meantime I'll keep nursing my Java client that's the only thing I'm running under IE 11 on a legacy system :->

Just an update on this: It's still in the works, things got busy at our Real Jobs and we had to put that first. But we're picking it up again in the new year and will make it happen.
