We have. For a bit of history, part of the plan for Pocket-Monkey was to have three different computerized players -- bo-bo, mo-mo, and jo-jo -- each representing a diffent difficulty level. I even went so far as to lay some very (very) experimental code for playing reversi.
That effort was quickly abandoned. It would have required a massive amount of work to adapt existing (where possible and writing them from whole cloth where it wasn't) game playing programs to be used by the site. We also came to realize that we would have to support them, etc. All of this was time that would be better spent on enhancing the player/player parts of the site.
I still think it is a cool idea. Perhaps one day we will revist it, but not for a little while. TJ has a lot oh his plate right now (like the summer of new games!).
tyvm for the quick reply and i hope you can one day get it sorted, i never realized though it took so much to run them.
