The January tournies are open for signup, and there are still some from before that need more players!
The January tournies, like December, do allow vacations. We'll probably alternate months -- a month with tournies that allow vacations, then a month with tournies that don't -- but we're doing two "allows vacations" months in a row (December and January) because the previous 710 tournaments don't allow vacations, so we're jump-starting the "allows vacations" ones.

Oh, and: Yes, the tournaments page really, really needs to be improved. It's on the list... I mean, we now have 803 tournaments, the "verbose" page is far too large and even the concise one is hitting limits on WebTV boxes (I think). The other major request is being able to tick boxes next to pending tournaments and then click a button to sign up to all of the ticked ones at the same time.
Hi T.J.~ just wondering about Tournies. I noticed the Jan 6, 2008 tournies didn't start yet. I thought maybe the system automatically started games on the start date if it recognized that enough players signed up - OR - is it more hands on and you have to manually start everything. If it's manual then nevermind! I know you are busy being a new dad and that's way more important. :)
They're not automatic, no. Initially that was because I was still shaking down the tournaments feature, but it's been a long time since starting a tourney kicked up an error, so now it's just waiting for me to automate doing it.
But I've finally gotten a chance to start them!
