It was recently brought to my attention that if you accept an Open Invite, the resulting game doesn't allow vacations. That's a bug and we'll fix it as soon as we can. All non-tournament games are supposed to allow vacations.
I've just now corrected the 1,277 active games affected by this (e.g., marked them to allow vacations) and I'll do that again later today to catch ones started in the meantime.
As for the affected games that have already timed out when a player was on vacation, sometime in the next week or so we'll try to get those marked "unrated" and correct the stats so your ratings aren't affected by them. (No need to write to us to tell us you've been affected, we'll figure it out at our end.)
Sorry for the trouble, enjoy your games! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
thx , i took game tonight out of waiting but a 7 day game, its still not alow vac. buts its ok as i took 7 day to check out if all was fixed yet. when you get to them all, i'm sure u will let us know. as 7 day game i can make the moves, thx.
The bug is fixed, when you accept an Open Invite it now sets up the game correctly to allow vacations. I've also fixed the 106 further games created via Open Invites since my original post.
We're still working on making the games that were timed out not count; those will be marked "unrated" and the stats corrected on Sunday.
It turns out only five players had games time out on them inappropriately (13 games in all). We've marked those games "unrated" so they don't count in the ratings, and the ratings will be fixed in the next few days. I've sent a notification to each of the players involved.
Sorry TJ this not about the bug, but I am going on vacation & I am wondering about the Ultra Fast games will I time out on them I will be away for a week.
(It's better to start your own thread rather than replying within an unrelated thread.)
If you go to the page for the tournament, it'll tell you whether that tournament allows vacations. It depends on when the tourney started -- we alternate months. (No tournies from before we had the vacations feature allow vacations, only some of them since December.)
Enjoy your (tourney) games! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
I don't see what a tournament anti-checkers game has to do with the (now fixed) open invites bug. When posting, it's better to start your own thread rather than posting to a thread on a completely unrelated topic.
I'm already looking at the game you mentioned; it was brought to my attention via the Contact Us link. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
