Hi all,

As many of you will have read here, some (five) of the July tournies started prematurely. Since that's not fair on the players in the tournament (perhaps they were going away and the games started before they were ready), the premature start has been "undone." The July tournies will start on the 25th, as they're meant to.

The five tournies that started early are:If you're not in any of the above, none of this applies to you.

If you are in one or more of those tournies, read on...

The original plan was to make the games that had been started non-tourney games and give each player the option of asking us to cancel the game (e.g., as though it had never existed). That way, the players could finish the game if they wanted to, or not. But with five tournies, we're talking about 570 games, and having people write into us to manually cancel 570 games is not feasible.

So instead, I've changed the games to be non-tourney and unrated. This means that either player may resign the game and it will not count toward stats. So if you have a game below and don't want to play it out, do this:
  1. Go into the game (you can click a link in the list linked below).
  2. Look under the game board for the game #.
  3. MAKE SURE IT SAYS "(unrated)" AFTER THE GAME NUMBER, like this: "Game #1234567 (unrated)". If it doesn't, you've got the wrong game.
  4. When you're sure the game is unrated, resign it.
AGAIN: BEFORE RESIGNING A GAME YOU THINK IS ONE OF THE GAMES BELOW, CHECK THAT IT SAYS IT'S "(unrated)" UNDER THE GAME BOARD! IF IT DOESN'T, YOU'RE RESIGNING THE WRONG GAME.

Or of course, play the game out! PM is for fun, after all!

Here's the list of games.

Sorry for the hassle!
