As there is severe weather heading for the East Coast of the United States, we've turned off game timeouts for the week. During this week, no games will time out (even though their "must move by" dates will go past). At the end of the week, all games will have their "must move by" dates set to the full turn interval, and then timeouts will be turned back on. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com

Re: Re: Severe weather along the Atlantic Seaboard (U.S.)
I have not got onto this site as much as I wanted to recently due to bad wheather but what we have here in England is nothing compared to other areas of the world, the Eastern U.S. coast being one area. I hope no-one gets hurt or loses their home.

I will be, sometime this weekend looks like. Hurricane Jeanne is now "just" Tropical Storm Jeanne and is headed out to sea. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
Re: Severe weather along the Atlantic Seaboard (U.S.)
Just an update: Hurricane Francis is looking nasty for the people in the south-east U.S. (and much of the way up the east coast), so game timeouts will remain turned off at least through the weekend and probably into next week. When we turn them back on, again, we'll reset the "Must Move By" time on all games so they start with the maximum amount of time.
I'm sure we all hope for the best for those folks whose homes, and indeed lives, are in jeopardy. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
Re: Re: Severe weather along the Atlantic Seaboard (U.S.)
Now that Hurricane Jeanne has been downgraded and has moved out to sea, we'll be turning Game Timeouts back on as of Monday October 4th. When we do, we'll reset all games, so if you have a 7-day game, it will have its "Must Move By" time set to seven days after October 4th; similarly 3-day games will get their full three days, 30-day games their full thirty days, etc.
I'm sure all of the people hit by the multiple hurricanes and tropical storms have other things to worry about, but when Pocket-Monkey does cross their minds I'm sure they appreciate everyone's patience and willingness to have timeouts turned off. We've had virtually no complaints, but several messages supporting the decision -- and of course, lots of messages of support for the people affected. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
Game timeouts are back on. All games have been reset to their full limit. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
