We're experiencing some trouble with the server going off-line. We're pursuing the problem with the datacenter the server is hosted in; apologies for the periodic outages while we resolve this problem! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
glad thats what it is because I am new here and when I got the message saying "refusing connection" I thought I had got kicked out or something...hahaha
hwenevr this happens u outta restore the games that timed out cause we couldnt get into play then i myslef lost 5 games bcause of that.... reset the time outs or something an restore the timed out games so its not a loss..thank you
We're continuing to isolate the problem that's causing the server to disappear periodically. It's looking (to me) like a hardware problem with the server itself, an intermittent fault, but there are other possibilities as well and we're chasing things down.
The net result is that I expect that Pocket-Monkey will be down for most of the weekend while we get the problem sorted out. Obviously, games won't time out during that period.
I hope that come Monday the problem will be resolved. Thanks for your patience, and meanwhile the server is here most of the time, so enjoy your games! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
Arggghhhh!!! Pocket-Monkey down most of the weekend
Well, I'm cautiously -- very cautiously -- optimistic we've found the source of the problem. We had the data center replace the mainboard of the server, and it's been stable since; that doesn't necessarily mean that was the problem or that the problem's gone, but it's a good sign.
As so unless there's another outage, we won't be taking the server down for the weekend. But I could be speaking prematurely... -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket Monkey
whenever this happens...u outta set ur time out off and renew the players games that timed out so the ppl dont take a lose for no reason as i did with like 5 of my 1 day games cause i wasnt able to get in...thank you
Yes, sorry, normally we do, this was an unusual situation. I'll look into it (I didn't think there had been many at all), and take it up with you offline.
George was one of about 35 people affected. I've fixed it so those games don't count anymore; see this message for details.
