As some of you know, I made a config change tonight and asked people to report the effect. I wouldn't have been vastly surprised if it had helped a bit, but I didn't really think it would. I also wouldn't have been surprised if it made things a bit worse.
It did neither of those things; it made things dramatically worse, really amazingly worse.
I've backed out the change (obviously), but it's given us a really good line of investigation to pursue, so in a way it's progress.
Thanks again for your patience... -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
Site seems to be running very slow. Takes forever for a move to be submitted then the next game to load.

Well, I just got through all my pending games (about 7 or so at the time) with little fuss or muss. I noticed, though, that "next game" was taking far longer than rolling/moving (this is BG I'm playing; TJ knows that but others may not)...I had virtually no wait after hitting "roll" or "send" after moving (a definite improvement over earlier today), but "next game" was still taking several seconds on occasion...
I've noticed significant delays going to the Current Games page (sometimes), sometimes moving between games. For me it's broadly consistent so far with what I've been seeing the past few days. Maybe slightly faster, but then again, there are only 20 active players as I write this. :-)

moving better then before still a small gap when hitting next game
T.J., I'm finding a major slow down when I click on the games. I didn't have this before. Just thought to let you know. :)

I just noticed something: forums and messages seem to be quite snappy...I've had no delays sending a few invites and reading these forum threads, whereas I just had a fairly slow time getting through my pending moves. FWIW.
