We've updated the tournament list page to be a bit more concise, since it's going to be listing lots of tournaments. This is probably just the start of an iterative process, but it's a start.
The old-style more verbose version is still available by clicking the "Click here for a more verbose display" link near the top of the page.
I completely agree! I love the new page - a lot easier to view all the tourneys at once without a load of scrolling.

just a suggestion, you could to make the verbose display even easier to read have a further link with all the competitors names in, so all you would then have in the main section would be rules and section grids
Just checking, the change I made was to the list of tourneys, but the suggestion you're making is to the page that shows a specific tourney, right? Basically the suggestion is to not show the list of players by default (since it can be so long)?

yes, you have that right, between the rules and the section grids, makes for long scrolling in large tournies

just another thought, also on very large tournies say like the backgammon one, instead a long list of sections under the rules. a link allowing players to go to each section and tournie grid. it would make reading easier and avoid lots of scrolling
