I posted an update to the site Friday morning (British time) which included fixes to a couple of problems I found while hunting for speed problems. I think it's been fairly successful, as even when the site's pretty busy (last night at midnight British time, for example) it seems to be moving along quite well.
The turn notifications are still turned off because I haven't had a chance to look through that part of things, which was causing quite substantial delays on the site. I'll address that soon.
