TJ are we ever going to get backgammon matches without the double cube in them. Some small matches say like three wins or 5 wins, may make a change from the matches that do use the double cube. Just an idea could even have some tournies using the same format too ?, anyone else like the idea of none double cube matches?
That's an interesting idea. It never occurred to me to have matches without the cube, even though the cube is a quite recent invention (1920's or so, gaming clubs in New York).
I'll put it on the list! -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
I agree with john totally. I came to this site because I love to play backgammon, so I actually want to play the games out. A true winner of a 5 game match is the person who actually plays out and wins 5 games first, not the one that can offer up the double cube to get to 5 points first, at least in my opinion. I would welcome this change to the tournament play for sure.
