Once again, people are posting large icons. Please keep your player icons small so they don't mess up the display of pages for other people who may have smaller screens than you do!!
Can't quite understand TJ... not like this hasn't been ask before... Are they just STUPID... inconsiderate SOB's or can't they read!!!!! GREAT site, keep up the great work and "THANK YOU"... PS.. maybe do away with the icons...
Glad you're enjoying the site! We'll keep the icons (although if you like, you can turn them off -- it's in your settings), but at some point I will have to add code to check the images before letting them be posted. I just haven't got 'round to it yet... -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com

I agree with your post, TJ has asked many times now about people doing smaller icons. Instead of doing away with them because a lot of people have cute LITTLE ones, TJ just make the people with the big ones get rid of them.

please keep the icons-they can be as entertaining as a game-po-mo forever
ISN'T THERE SOME WAY YOU CAN STOP SOME ONE FROM PUTTING AN IMIAGE THAT IS TOO BIG? IT DOES BOTHER ME WHEN SOME ARE SO LARGE. PEOPLE NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE RULES OF THE SITE.
Yes, I just haven't taken the time out to do that yet. I will have to, sadly, but that's time spent doing that rather than other things to improve the site... But yes, I will be doing that, and actually probably pretty soon. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
I agree with ILTG, TJ you got a great site, don't let some idiots ruin it for you, keep up the good work and delete those that can't follow the rules, simple enough.
TJ, can't you just delete the ones with the big icons, THEN they might get the message. Obviously, they haven't learned to read and gotten through school or complete idiots! Delete those large icons and they might get the message. Others, like us that have gone with the guidelines, don't need to suffer because of those idiots.
Any icons that I have made and are too large,I am in the process of resizing them. If you are unsure of the size message me. I have made approx 300 or 400 hundred so it will take me awhile. Also if you are NOT using the icons I have made you, please message me, so I can remove them and use the space for othere that want icons. Thanks!
It's awfully good of you to do all that work for people! And not just to do it, but to frequently offer to do it, and to chime in when people are having trouble -- you really go out of your way. I've heard from lots of people how happy they were when you helped them or made an icon for them.
No reason to be rude about it lovey. Some people do have problems with reading and comprehending what they read.

cbe79 made a great point, I also use photobucket.com, it does make storing and resizing images an absolute breeze

I have posted briefly a photo icon to see how large my photo would be on the site temp. it does take a few minutes to change if it is too big because we have to go back into the settings and put in our current password and find another pic meanwhile that can pose a problem for everyone else. A SUGGESTION I have for you is that maybe you can put up a "preview page" to make sure its small enough and not so large then "post now" so that this wont happen.
We here to mess with TJ... or play games???? Seems to me TJ has already "DONE" a lot to and for this site... you want a big icon to brand your name, go else where... most of us are here to play games.. making more work `for TJ is just inconciderate!!! Grown up and play.. or leave... Unreal...
Again, Thank you TJ for a wonderful site to play on... AL
Posting briefly is not the answer. You go by size. Just check the pixel size before you post it, and resize if necessary. This site is wonderful, and players need to follow the rules. How many free sites give you all that we get from TJ? None! Let's all just fix our icons. Many of us have offered to help you resize if you don't know how. When I see I large icon, I message the person. I have received a ton of "thanks for your help", but also a ton of "mind your own business." This is all nnecessary work for TJ to monitor our icons!
Thanks TJ for a gr8 game site and all for FREE! Now let's pay games, players, and leave TJ to keep his site wonderful for us!
I have personally resized ALL the larger player icons and messaged them individually. So if they chose to use the smaller ones, gr8, if not, too bad for them! I tried my best to keep them no larger then 110 pixels. Most I could make smaller, but some were just too distorted after resizing them. Hope this helps you out!
Hi TJ, I got a message this morning with someone claiming to be helping you. Is my Icon too large? I thought 200x100 was the suggested size. My icon is exactly 200x100 and I spent a lot of time getting my expression to look the way I wanted in that space without it looking too busy. Why did I get targeted? -=C
That's what the entry in the FAQ says, yes, 200x100, so yours is fine.
Whoever it was who contacted you wasn't doing it under our direction. They were probably just trying to be helpful -- a few people (like Anna above) spontaneously offer to help people with their icons if they look too big, that's probably what happened. Since yours is right there at the edge, whoever it was probably thought it was too large.
How do you check the pixels on your photo that you put on your profile? I want to make sure my sunflower isn't against regulations, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about it?

It depends on your browser, but if you right-click the image to bring up a little menu, usually there's a "Properties" choice on the menu which will tell you the dimensions of the image.
Technically, your image is a little too tall (120px tall vs. the requested 100px), but it's nothing to worry about. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
Well, what has puzzled me is that I took great pains to make sure mine was within the guidelines. When it was finished, it was just slightly smaller than the regulation stated 100x200.
But it looked huge (to me anyway) when it appeared in the active players and in my profile. I went back and checked it on three different occasions and it was always less then the requirement.
BTW, the ratio of 1:2 seems odd for an icon anyway. Ends up being quite elongated - but whatever.
After this latest urging, I have just replaced it with one that's 64x55, lest I be accused of having too fat an icon, but be it known I have always been in compliance.
Thanks for doing that. The guideline is actually 200x100, not 100x200. It probably should be 100x100 or even a smaller square, but we're not going to change it now! :-)
TJ I have just gone into my players site & my icon has gone could you explain why thanks it wasen't over big & it has been there for a good 6 months looking forward to your reply thanks
We haven't done anything with it. We avoid removing player icons if we possibly can -- mucking about with people's profiles is fairly intrusive. Instead, if there's an issue we ask the player to change it. We've only gone in and removed icons ourselves about three or four times when we really felt that it couldn't wait, and in all cases we've written to the player to say why.
Are you sure it's gone? I'm still seeing one (a frog saying "Ribbet a game?"). -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
It's there when I go look. I'm afraid I don't know why it's not showing up for you, but I don't think the problem is at PM's end of things. -- T.J. Crowder First Primate Pocket-Monkey.com
